INTERIOR DESIGN
What is not inherited.

What is not inherited.

The location came with the property. The proportions, with the building. Everything else, with you.

THE WORK

Felt long before it is understood.

What makes a property singular is not what it contains, but the way everything in it relates. It is felt on arrival and impossible to describe on the way out.

Looking for Interior Architecture?

Our quiet distinctions.

1. The space is composed

Not assembled. Nothing is chosen on its own. A material is judged against the light that will fall on it, the piece in front of it and the hour of the day you will be in the room. That is why a house done this way reads as one thing rather than a collection of good decisions.

2. Access, not selection.

What changes the result is what you can reach: ateliers that do not sell direct, small producers, fabric held for a single project, a stone chosen first and everything matched to it after.

3. A sample board is not a room.

A room is light, scale and distance, and none of the three fit on a table. You spend an hour inside the finished space before anything is ordered, and approve once, in front of the thing itself.

4. Discretion, by default.

Nothing is photographed or published without your agreement, and no prospective client is ever brought into a finished property. Some of this studio's work will never be seen.

Designed to hold people longer than they planned.

ARBOR · Quinta da Marinha, Cascais

Quinta da Marinha, Cascais. Different generations, different routines, and each with a place of its own. The bedrooms serve rest and work; the shared floors adjust to whoever is there that week. Fine wooden slats, drawn from the pine trunks outside, run through the walls and the furniture across every level.

Four decisions, before anything is ordered.

01

Designing for the 10th year

A room that photographs well on delivery day is easy. One that still reads well after it has been used, moved around and lived in through several versions of a life is not. Materials are chosen for how they age, not for how they arrive.

02

Fewer pieces, better ones

The easiest way to finish a room is to fill it. We usually return a scheme with less in it, and spend the difference on the few things that carry it. Empty space is a material like any other, and the only one that cannot be bought back later.

03

The property should look like you

Not like us. Most people cannot describe their own taste, and the ones who can usually describe someone else's. We find it in what you keep, what you reject and what you hesitate over, and the room follows from there.

04

Keeping something has to be a decision

A piece that stays by default costs the room more than one that is chosen. We go through what you own and say what it is worth keeping, what is worth re-covering or moving, and what is quietly holding the room back.

Nothing left unresolved.

A project also lives in its details: where a lamp is connected, how a door closes, where the joinery ends. None is large, all are visible. They stay with BONDURANT, treated with the same care as a full build.

THE SMALL WORKS

Bring the ambition. We take it from there.
