About the project
The INTERLUDE project develops from the idea that the true quality of a home lies in the space between. In the gestures, pauses, and transitions that shape daily life. In the INTERLUDE project, the focus is on a breathing habitat, where the natural fluidity of the paths sustains family life and creates a balance between movement and rest. The house is conceived as a setting of comfort, intuitive organization, and lightness, using natural materials, soft tones, and solutions that help to create a harmonious and emotionally welcoming environment.

Challenge
Among the challenges identified were the limited natural light in several areas, the need to reorganize flows and uses without disrupting the daily routine, and the integration of multiple functions in already conditioned spaces, such as the laundry room and the basement's technical area. Added to this is the requirement for durable materials, suitable for the presence of children and cats, as well as the creation of comfort on an upper floor where small windows and dark walls demand careful treatment. In the attic, the variable ceiling height and underutilized areas require discreet and efficient solutions; outside, the sloping topography and the desire to create a lived-in patio also present significant challenges.

Aproach
Thinking the house based on its natural flows, creating intuitive paths and spaces that breathe, supported by custom-made carpentry that unifies aesthetics and functionality in areas such as the basement, living room, attic, and master suite. The introduction of multi-layered lighting—indirect, technical, and decorative—is considered to correct the lack of natural light and create tranquil and adaptable environments. In the bedrooms, solutions are designed to accommodate growth and actual use, with intelligent storage, visual comfort, and soft materials. Outside, the creation of two levels is studied to expand social living and reinforce the indoor-outdoor connection. Throughout the house, a calm palette, natural textures, and mid-century references are used to ensure continuity, lightness, and an atmosphere consistent with the INTERLUDE concept.
